Suzy

Since 2007, Suzy Hudson has worked in Greg Hanzel’s Resource Language Arts class as his go-to Educational Assistant here at Ashland Middle School. That’s a remarkably long partnership that highlights Suzy’s passion and expertise in working with our students. About AMS and her position here, Suzy says, “I love the kids! They keep me from thinking old people’s thoughts, and they make me feel young. It’s really a stimulating environment.”

A world traveler from an early age—she has lived in Dublin, Paris, and Honolulu—Suzy grew up in Pennsylvania. Her first career as a photographer took her all over the world, but she and her husband Myron finally settled down in Ashland to raise a family in 1993. Their son, Zeke, is going to be married here in Ashland this summer and their daughter, Lily, is currently head baker at Mix. In 2006, Suzy got her degree in Art, with a minor in Art History, at SOU. In addition to creating art, Suzy loves to hike. She and Myron hiked the Scottish Highlands last summer and plan on heading down to Death Valley for spring break this year. We’re lucky she still makes Ashland and AMS her home base!
