Thursday we came together for our Indigenous People’s Day assembly. We learned about the indigenous groups of our region, and the importance of honoring heritage and traditions of Indigenous groups of the Pacific Northwest, both historical and modern. We also sang songs together, one of which was lead by the Bellview chorus.

We had our first assembly of the year! Bellview 5th graders sang the Bellview song, and played along on ukuleles. Bellview Bee’s made an appearance and did a skit on being respectful. Awards were handed out for Jog-A-Thon runners, and to students who did a good job with focusing attention. Some awesome reading awards were also handed out. The assembly ended with Ms. Johnson leading the whole school in a dance. Nice job Bobcats!
