Family Service

Willow Wind recognizes the importance of family involvement and participation in a student’s education, activities, and environment. To ensure the success of Willow Wind the energy of all families is needed to provide a thriving program in a well-cared-for environment. Parent involvement and participation help enrich the student’s experience by building community and providing a bridge between home and Willow Wind.

Family Service

Willow Wind requests that all families of enrolled students, part-time and full-time, fulfill a total of sixteen hours of family service (volunteerism) per year. Families with students who are enrolled in less than three hours of classes per week are asked to complete one family service opportunity during each semester. There are a variety of family service opportunities throughout the year, such as gardening, special projects, events, committees, and community projects to help meet the family service requirement. Students over the age of 12 can contribute to the completion of their family’s service requirement. Families who have extenuating circumstances, which make it impossible to fulfill the family service requirement, are encouraged to fill out a Family Service Waiver.
